I have written nearly thirty plays and screenplays including continuing series drama for television, a Radio 4 series, and plays for young people. Most of my plays have been written for community theatre companies who perform outside of traditional theatre buildings, in village halls, clubs, schools and streets. Many of my plays are musicals and I particularly enjoy writing lyrics.
Recent plays include Scorcher a play set in a fairground toured by Action Transport Theatre; On Saturdays This Bed is Poland and Mirka's Story, both about how migrant workers try to survive despite exploitative Gangmasters.
The theme of forced exile is one which I am also developing in a commissioned play in progress, about an asylum seeker who comes to Manchester from what was the North West Frontier Province of Pakistan.
